| Text: | Researching my orphaned dads ancestry, found my GGrandfather, Richard Newman and his wife Charlotte Joyce both of Wherwell c.1830. Tho Ive never been to England, as a young boy had comforting dreams of a thatched roof village with a fire in the hearth and a warm welcome from an elderly couple. One can only imagine my euphoria when I discovered the ancient village of Wherwell is my ancestral home. I am ever grateful for the marvelous website as I hope to visit someday.
