Film show - Wherwell village hall.Sunday 15th May 2011 at 4.45-6.30.Doors open 4.30.NGS Gardens is a Japanese National TV documentary ...... about the UK’s National Garden Scheme. Sue & Robert’s garden is featured (Wherwell residents) along with thirteen other gardens from around the UK.
It was watched by more than seven million viewers when it was broadcast in Japan last October. In addition to seeing some fascinating gardens, the documentary paints a beautiful perspective of the English summer countryside and gives a charming insight into the passion that the British have for their gardens. Luckily most of the dialogue in the film is in English with Japanese voiceover in places.
At the film show Robert & Sue will give a brief introductory chat about the filming experience and explain how a Wherwell garden ended up on Japanese TV. They have invited some of the other gardeners featured in the film to join us on the day.
To reserve a seat at the film show, please contact: Sue on 01264 860 599, or Robert via email at r.dlawrence@btopenworld.com
There will be a charge of £1 per head to cover the hire of the village hall; any surplus will be added to the money collected on the Wherwell Gardens Open Day, which goes towards village hall funds.
After the film, Sue & Robert's garden will be open to visitors(weather permitting)
